Vote for the CatchMark Play of the Week (Sept. 13-18)

Big plays during athletic competition often result in momentum swings and can put a team on the path to victory. CatchMark SportsNet brings you four nominated plays of the week from Sept. 13-18 contests that fit that description.

Watch the video above to see the Play of the Week nominations. Vote for the Play of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this story. The poll will close Friday, Sept. 24, at noon.

Here is a description of the four nominated plays to offer context:

Play 1: Dylan Everett starts the Montague football team off on the right foot with a dazzling 29-yard run on the Wildcats’ first offensive play of the game. Everett contributed to a 33-7 victory over conference rival Oakridge with 116 yards and two TDs on 20 carries.

Play 2: Whitehall volleyball’s Rayne Thompson springs up for a monster kill to take a 22-21 lead in a close game 2 against Ludington on Thursday evening. The go-ahead kill gave the Vikings the edge over Ludington. Whitehall finished 3-0 on the day with victories over Big Rapids, Fremont, and Ludington.

Play 3: Ravenna running back Hunter Hogan emerges from the backfield to score an enormous 80-yard TD in the fourth quarter Thursday evening against the Mason County Central Spartans. Hogan led the Bulldog offense with 126 yards on only four carries. The ‘Dogs rolled to a 53-8 victory over Mason County Central.

Play 4: Montague middle linebacker Colton Blankstrom puts an abrupt stop on an Oakridge bubble pass early in the fourth quarter. Blankstrom halts Kimball Hanks (Oakridge slot receiver) in his tracks with a clean read of the play. The big defensive stop put an exclamation point on the Wildcats’ 33-7 win.
