CatchMark SportsNet podcast: Twitter check marks, NIL and early football exits

Scott DeCamp, Brent Raeth and Zach Zweigle cover lots of ground, including a laborious day of Lions football Sunday.

It’s an oddity when the Muskegon area is knocked out of the football playoffs before the semifinal round.

In fact, this is the first time since 2011 that all of the area’s teams have been eliminated by the end of the regional round. Oakridge, Montague and Muskegon Catholic Central were the final three teams standing from the area, and they all suffered regional losses last weekend.

We try to make sense of it on Episode 4 of the CatchMark SportsNet Podcast. It’s a lively discussion, as per usual, including talk of Twitter verification (Zach Zweigle is mystified by Scott DeCamp’s check mark) and NIL (Name, Image and Likeness), which is a hot topic in college sports and bleeding into high school athletics as well.
