Division 3 Regional Final: North Muskegon Battles but Falls Short
North Muskegon came into the regional final with confidence and momentum, and despite dropping the first set 25–20, the Norse stormed back to take the second 25–21. The match remained tight throughout, but Pewamo-Westphalia’s consistency late in sets proved to be the difference. PW closed out the match 25–22 and 25–17 in the final two sets to secure a 3–1 win and move on in the Division 3 state tournament.
North Muskegon concludes an impressive season at 27–12, highlighted by an undefeated run through the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division and a district championship. Strong senior leadership and a united team culture fueled the Norse’s postseason push, supported by a dedicated fanbase that traveled well and created a lively atmosphere in White Cloud.

Division 2 Regional Final: Fremont Makes School History
In Fremont, the energy inside the gym was electric as the Packers delivered one of the most memorable matches in program history. Facing defending regional champion Fruitport, Fremont captured the opening set before the Trojans answered with a surge of their own. The back-and-forth battle continued through five gripping sets.
After dropping a close fourth set 28–26, Fremont regrouped and surged ahead in the decisive fifth, winning 15–10 and clinching the school’s first-ever regional championship. With contributions spread across the roster—strong hitting, sharp defense, and disciplined serve receive—the Packers demonstrated grit and cohesion from start to finish.
Fremont now stands at 37–13 on the season, continuing a remarkable fall sports run for the school. Fruitport ends its year at 31–14-1 after overcoming significant adversity and pushing the regional final to the wire.

With their regional title secured, Fremont advances to the Division 2 state quarterfinals. The Packers will face Ogemaw Heights (30–6–2), a team fresh off its own five-set regional victory.
