How do I go about covering a game?

Below is a comprehensive guide on how to go about covering a game for the 2024 season. This covers everything from days before the game all the way to when your at home after the game. Check it out below.

What to do pregame?

Before heading out to the game, please check our SportsNut game calendar (linked here) to see if the game you’d like to cover is still available.

What to do during the game?

As a SportsNut there is a few required items that we would like you to take care of while you are covering a game.

First up, social posts! We’re talking score updates, big plays, the whole shebang. If you haven’t gotten this set up yet, no worries! Just shoot an email to Conner Raeth at craeth@catchmarkit.com.

What to do after the game?

After the game is where it can get a little complicated. This will be split into two steps. Both are laid out below.

Step 1: Uploading your pictures.

As a SportsNut you are expected to gather to following.

  • 15 images
  • 3 Videos
  • 2 Interviews
    • ie. One player, one coach

Linked here is a list of possible questions to ask in an interview.

You will then have to upload those to the Synology Drive app. If you have any issues with this, please reach out to Conner (craeth@catchmarkit.com).

Step 2: CatchMark SportsNet Post Game Form

There will be a form for you, as a SportsNut to fill out. As part of this, you will be required to fill out the following:

  • Name
  • Date
  • Event Covered
  • Short Summary of the game

If you have any questions around this, please reach out to Conner (craeth@catchmarkit.com).
