Montague Area Public Schools, CatchMark partner for 2023-24 athletics, activities coverage

From media-day experiences to video/written profiles and more, Wildcats students will receive top-notch promotion.

MONTAGUE — Montague Area Public Schools and CatchMark Technologies have been partners in various ways in recent years.

That partnership continues and it will be enhanced when it comes to CatchMark SportsNet’s coverage and promotion of Wildcats athletics and activities in the 2023-24 school year.

Montague has signed with CatchMark, which will produce media-day experiences, video/written profiles, and other content to highlight athletics, extracurricular activities, and more in the district.

“CatchMark allows for a great opportunity for our kids throughout the community to not only showcase themselves within the community but even across the state in some regards,” said Jeff Johnson, superintendent of Montague Area Public Schools.

“CatchMark has done a very nice job of showing others our district in a number of different ways and that there are a lot of great things that happen every single day that just get missed. CatchMark has been a way for our community to show all the great things that take place.”

CatchMark’s Whitehall office is located at 112 E. Colby St.

CatchMark has also signed a partnership for coverage and promotion of athletics and extracurriculars for Whitehall District Schools for the 2023-24 school year.

Since CatchMark SportsNet launched in the fall of 2021, the company has covered the West Michigan Conference and beyond with various forms of digital content that “makes the kids feel like rock stars,” in the words of several coaches and parents in the area. That includes the aforementioned media days, highlight and reaction videos, shows, podcasts, and much more in the video, graphic, and written areas of the digital space.

CatchMark SportsNet content can be found in a variety of places, including our social-media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, as well as the CatchMarkSports.com website and CatchMark Sports YouTube channel.

In the 2022-23 school year, CatchMark SportsNet generated more than 4.7 million combined content views across all platforms. In the 2021-22 school year, combined content views exceeded 1.1 million.

CatchMark is seeking Montague students who would like to help provide coverage and promotion of their school. Contact us at sports@catchmarkit.com if interested in more information.

“There are so many talents that walk around the halls of the school here,” Johnson said. “To be able to show all the different walks of life that we have here in our buildings and that they each have little brilliances of excellence, I think that’s important to showcase everyone.

“When positive things continue to happen, it creates a momentum for future successes that one might think they could never get.”
