Holton’s softball team played a challenging schedule and the Red Devils did so with this time of the season in mind.

It’s MHSAA state tournament time and they appear primed to make a run.

Division 4 fifth-ranked Holton began its tourney journey in dominating fashion Friday, rolling past host Marion 20-1 in three innings in the district semifinals before diming White Cloud 10-0 in five innings in the district finals.

Next up for the Red Devils (25-12-1) is the regional tournament next Saturday (June 8) at Frankfort. They’ll face the winner of the Bellaire district, which will wrap up today (June 1).

Meanwhile, Abbie Fowler went 3-for-4 with three triples, Thompsen was 2-for-3, and Chloe McKee went 2-for-2. Greene, Goyings, and Sydney McCormick also had hits for the Red Devils.
