Player of the Year

Time to vote for 2023-24 West Michigan Conference winter sports Players of the Year

Voting is open 8 a.m. March 18, 2024, through April 1, 2024. You may vote once per hour in each poll.

On Friday (March 15, 2024), CatchMark SportsNet unveiled the 2023-24 West Michigan Conference Player of the Year finalists for seven winter sports. We detailed season accomplishments for three finalists in each sport.

Now it’s time for our readers to have their say. It’s time to vote for the Players of the Year, titled sponsored by Durga Insurance Group.

A CatchMark panel comprised of CatchMark SportsNet lead Scott DeCamp and Durga Insurance Group partners Jordan Durga and Justin Durga determined the finalists in each sport, but it’s up to you to decide who wins the awards.

Fan polls opened at 8 a.m. today (Monday, March 18, 2024). They’ll remain open for two weeks, closing at 8 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024.

Readers will be allowed to vote once per hour in each poll.

CatchMark has called an audible for the Player of the Year banquet in the 2023-24 school year. Rather than hosting a smaller banquet after each of the three sports seasons, we’re putting together one bigger banquet. It’s set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Whitehall High School, 3100 W. White Lake Dr., with the meal in the Viking Center and awards ceremony in the auditorium.

All Player of the Year finalists from the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons will be invited to the banquet. We’re also working on introducing a new twist to our Player of the Year series at the year-end banquet. Stay tuned for an announcement on that later on.

Trophies and laminated certificates will be awarded at the banquet. A trophy that stays in our CatchMark office in Whitehall will have the names of all Players of the Year engraved on it.
