Montague football coach Justin Dennett tipped his cap to Whitehall for its performance in the Vikings’ 34-14 victory over the Wildcats in the “Battle for the Bell” game Friday.
Now it’s time for West Michigan Conference co-champ Montague (6-2) to prepare Friday’s trip to Portland (6-2) in the regular-season finale. The reigning Division 6 state champion Wildcats rebounded well from their season-opening loss to powerful Edwardsburg and Dennett expects them to do so again as they reset for a playoff run.
