Montague, North Muskegon Split Doubleheader Before Rain Floods Out Tuesday Slate

Montague and North Muskegon gave fans plenty to talk about Monday, trading blows in a doubleheader that featured big swings, momentum changes and standout performances on both sides. North Muskegon rode an explosive eight-run second inning to a convincing win in the opener, but Montague answered right back in Game 2 behind strong pitching and timely hitting to salvage a split. From Logan Slimko’s early impact at the plate to Eli Petersen’s steady outing in the nightcap, the doubleheader delivered the kind of back-and-forth drama that made it one of the most compelling local matchups of the day.

Tuesday’s schedule, however, told a very different story. Rain moved in right around game time and lingered throughout the evening, leaving several fields flooded and unplayable. As a result, multiple area games were postponed, with makeup dates still to be announced.
