RAVENNA BOWLING
The Ravenna girls bowling team continues to roll at a championship pace early in the 2025-26 season.
Ravenna edged out Grand Haven, 17-13, on Monday behind strong regular-game scores of 944 and 865 to improve to 4-0 on the season. Joslyn Nutt led the Bulldogs with games of 224 and 200, while Taylor Nutt followed closely with 226 and 187. Gabby Nutt added games of 190 and 215, Kendyl Luce posted 144 and 157, and Reese Herremans contributed scores of 160 and 106.
The Bulldogs followed that performance with a dominant 29-1 victory over Whitehall on Wednesday at Northway Lanes. Gabby Nutt paced Ravenna with games of 137 and 242, while Taylor Nutt rolled 180 and 166. Reese Herremans recorded 156 and 146, Joslyn Nutt added 129 and 156, and Kendyl Luce rounded out the scoring with games of 135 and 147.
Ravenna, the reigning Division 4 state champion, will look to stay unbeaten when it faces Grand Haven on Monday at Sherman Lanes.
FRUITPORT BOWLING
The Fruitport boys bowling team turned in a strong showing against stiff competition at Saturday’s Mona Shores Sailor Cup Invitational at Sherman Bowling Center.
The Trojans finished fifth out of 22 teams in the preliminary rounds to earn a spot in the six-team playoff field before falling to Reeths-Puffer, 2-1, in the quarterfinals.
Peyton Wirt led Fruitport with a third-place individual finish, posting a 629 series. Keenan Camp followed with a 605 series to take fifth place, as both bowlers earned medals. Bradley Dekker bowled all three preliminary games and finished with a 473 series. Dylan Winskas (313), Remy Parker (267) and Corbin Judd (235) each contributed two-game series scores.
The Fruitport girls team placed 11th and narrowly missed the playoff cut. Genevieve Franklin led the Trojans with a 380 series, including a high game of 166. Harper Simila rolled a 354 series, Kyleigh O’Connell added 344, and Mya Herrygers finished with 291. Ava Bradshaw posted a two-game series of 193.
