Several West Michigan Conference wrestling teams competed in tournaments on Saturday, Dec. 17.

MARK BOSSE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT AT HART

Whitehall brought its “A” and “B” teams to Hart Saturday for the Mark Bosse Memorial Tournament. The Vikings’ “A” team finished runner-up behind tournament champion Three Rivers.
Shane Cook (275), Wyatt Jenkins (175) and Darnell Mack (150) each finished 3-0 en route to winning their weight classes for the Vikings. Cook defeated the second-ranked wrestler in the state by a score of 21-5.
Other top finishers on the day for Whitehall included:
Cody Manzo (106) at 2-1 for second place;
Ryne Christensen (144) at 2-1 for third place;
Ryan Goodrich (157) at 2-1 for third place;
Max Krukowski (126) at 2-1 for third place;
Colton Weiler (113) at 2-2 for fourth place;
Alex LeTrea (215) at 1-2 for fourth place;
Blake Morningstar (275) at 4-1 for fifth place;
Nolan Taranko (120) at 4-1 for fifth place;
Blake English (144) at 3-2 for sixth place;
Thayden Reed (165) at 3-2 for sixth place.

Hart, Holton, Mason County Central and Oakridge were the other West Michigan Conference teams that competed in the Mark Bosse tourney. Among those four teams, only Mason County Central reported results.
Mason County Central had a good day as eight of its nine wrestlers advanced to medal rounds and everybody won a match. Top finishers for the Spartans included:
Zane McCabe (126) in first place;
Hunter Sanford (120) in second place;
Brinton Brooks (132) in fourth place;
Colter Kirchner (144) in fifth place;
Brayden Overmyer (150) in fifth place;
Nyveah Wendt (113) in sixth place;
Parker Overmyer (157) in sixth place;
Graydn Wilson (285) in sixth place.
MAT CAT HOLIDAY DUALS AT MONTAGUE

Montague finished runner-up to Reeths-Puffer in the Mat Cat Holiday Duals Saturday at Montague. The host Wildcats were missing several wrestlers because of illness or injury. In their dual, Reeths-Puffer defeated Montague, 64-18. Montague defeated Howard City Tri County (42-36), Battle Creek Central (46-24), Muskegon Catholic Central (42-36) and Grand Rapids West Catholic (54-22).
Chris Aebig led Montague with a 5-0 record.

JOE LOREN MEMORIAL INVITIATIONAL AT CHIPPEWA HILLS
Hesperia competed in the Joe Loren Memorial Invitational Saturday at Chippewa Hills. Here were the top finishers for the Panthers:
Stephen Priese (106) in first place;
Alex Sayer (120) in third place;
Skyler Stalbaum (138) in third place;
Alex Gleason (150) in third place;
Blake Sayer (120) in fourth place.
SOUTH HAVEN DUALS
Ravenna finished 0-5 in the South Haven Duals on Saturday. The top finisher for the Bulldogs was Taytum Goerbig (144) with a 3-2 record.
