Whitehall’s wrestling program is not the type to settle for moral victories. It’s a little different wrestling a nationally ranked program like Dundee, however.
For the second straight season, Whitehall finished as Division 3 runner-up at the team wrestling state finals after a 49-20 loss to Dundee Saturday afternoon at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo.
It’s the seventh straight Division 3 state championship and 12th in 14 years for top-seeded Dundee (18-5).
Second-seeded Whitehall (29-4) advanced to the title match with a comfortable 44-24 semifinals victory over third-seeded Clinton earlier in the day.
