This fall, three standout volleyball players from West Michigan etched their names into program history, each reaching major career milestones while leading their teams to success on the court. Montague’s Gentry Knop, Western Michigan Christian’s Bri Warners, and Hart’s Alayna Schiller have all set the bar high with remarkable performances and leadership that define what it means to be a student-athlete.
Gentry Knop Joins the 1,000 Digs Club
Montague senior libero Gentry Knop hit a rare mark in volleyball this season, surpassing 1,000 career digs. Her milestone came during Montague’s district-opening win over Oakridge, where she recorded an incredible 36 digs in the match. Knop’s defensive prowess and relentless energy have made her a cornerstone of the Wildcats’ backcourt. Knop’s achievement reflects years of consistency and determination. With Montague advancing through the postseason, she continues to anchor a defense that thrives on grit and hustle.
Bri Warners Reaches 3,000 Career Assists
Western Michigan Christian’s senior setter Bri Warners joined an elite group this fall by surpassing 3,000 career assists, guiding the Warriors’ high-powered offense to another dominant season.
Warners reached the milestone in a sweep over Mason County Eastern, posting 39 assists in the match. Her ability to distribute the ball with precision has been key to WMC’s success. Warners’ leadership and court vision have elevated her teammates—most notably hitters Maddie and Kasey Folkema, who benefited from her pinpoint sets throughout the season.

Alayna Schiller Surpasses 1,000 Career Digs for Hart
Hart junior libero Alayna Schiller also entered the 1,000 digs club, reaching the mark during a conference win over rival Shelby. She finished that match with 28 digs, helping the Pirates sweep the Tigers in straight sets. Schiller’s milestone night reflected her role as both a defensive leader and emotional anchor for Hart’s young roster. Alongside standout teammates Reese Smith and Rilynn Porter, Schiller has positioned Hart as a rising force in the West Michigan Conference.
These three milestone moments not only highlight individual excellence but also symbolize the strength of volleyball in the region. Each athlete’s achievement—whether in the back row or at the setter’s spot—demonstrates a shared dedication to teamwork, endurance, and competitive spirit.
