High school volleyball teams across the Lakeshore wrapped up district play this week, with several local programs claiming titles and advancing to regional competition. Here’s a look at how each matchup played out and what’s next for the winners.
Fruitport Claims District 38 Title
The Fruitport Trojans continued their dominant postseason tradition, capturing their third district crown in four years with a 3–1 victory over rival Spring Lake. The Trojans took the match with scores of 25-13, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-22.
Fruitport’s balance and composure were on full display as they controlled the tempo early and closed out strong in the fourth set. With the win, Fruitport advances to Region 10, where they’ll face Ionia on Monday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Fremont High School.
Fremont Secures District 39 Championship

The Fremont Packers brought home the District 39 championship, sweeping Grant in three sets: 25-20, 25-16, 25-23. Fremont’s solid all-around effort earned them a home-court advantage for the next round.
They’ll host Region 10 play at Fremont High School, opening against their next opponent on November 11 at 5:30 p.m.
North Muskegon Triumphs in District 73 Final

The North Muskegon Norse powered past Western Michigan Christian in four sets, taking the District 73 title with scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-19, and 25-21. Senior leadership and team chemistry helped the Norse rebound after dropping the first set to secure the next three.
North Muskegon will continue their playoff run in Region 19, facing their next challenger on Monday, November 11 at 5:30 p.m. at White Cloud.
Grand Haven Tops Mona Shores for District 5 Title
In Division 1 District 5 action, Grand Haven swept Mona Shores in straight sets (25-16, 25-21, 25-18) to claim the district championship. The Bucs displayed steady control and strong defense throughout the match, keeping Mona Shores from finding rhythm offensively.
Grand Haven now advances to Region 2, where they’ll meet Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern on November 11 at 5:00 p.m. at the Hudsonville High School Fieldhouse.
Hart Set for Regional Action Tonight
The Hart Pirates are looking to continue their postseason success as they take on Reed City tonight, Thursday, November 7, at Chippewa Hills High School. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. as the Pirates aim to keep their playoff run alive and advance deeper into regional competition.
