Big hit by Montague linebacker wins CatchMark Play of the Week (Sept. 13-18)

Following a week filled with exceptional plays, voters have decided that the CatchMark SportsNet Play of the Week was awarded to Montague middle linebacker Colton Blankstrom for Sept. 13-18.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound senior powerhouse for the Wildcats defense executed a mammoth hit against Oakridge in the fourth quarter last Friday, Sept. 17, in his team’s 33-7 victory at Townsend Athletic Complex.

In addition to his big hit, Blankstrom notched five tackles on the night and he caught a 16-yard touchdown pass, his first of the season, to complement his highlight.

Blankstrom is the leading tackler for Montague with 27 through four games.

Montague (3-1, 3-0 West Michigan Conference) hosts Ravenna (3-1, 1-1) at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, on homecoming night.
