District volleyball finals matchups set in Muskegon area; see updated brackets (Nov. 4, 2021)

Muskegon-area volleyball action continues Thursday, Nov. 4, with district title matches. Here are district brackets along with some other info on districts hosted across the area.

Brackets and schedules below come from the Michigan High School Athletic Association website.

DIVISION 1

Mona Shores defeated Muskegon in a clean 3-0 sweep to punch its ticket to a title game against Grand Haven, which edged Coopersville 3-2 on Wednesday evening. The finals will take place at 6 tonight.

DIVISION 2

Cadillac continues its postseason run with a second sweep of districts in a win against Ludington on Wednesday evening. The Vikings will match up with Kingsley, which swept Kalkaska to secure a spot in the title game Friday at 7 p.m.

Fruitport pulled off a sweep for the second time in three days with a 3-0 win over Oakridge on Wednesday. The Trojans advance to Thursday’s 6 p.m. district finals at Spring Lake, where they’ll face district favorite Whitehall. The Vikings defeated host Spring Lake, three games to one, on Wednesday.

After a first-round bye, Newaygo pulled off a sweep of Sparta on Wednesday. Grant awaits the Lions in the finals tonight at 7 p.m., after the Tigers defeated Howard City Tri County in a sweep.

DIVISION 3

Shelby ran away with a district semifinal sweep over rival Hart. On the other side of the bracket, Hesperia defeated Holton, three games to one. Shelby and Hesperia square off at 6 p.m. Thursday in the district finals.

Morley Stanwood make quick work of White Cloud resulting in a 3-0 victory. The Mohawks will advance to play Kent City, which defeated Ravenna 3-0 on Wednesday. The Morley Stanwood vs. Kent City finals match will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday.

North Muskegon beat Fennville 3-0 to advance to the district finals at 6 p.m. Thursday against top-ranked Western Michigan Christian, which defeated Saugatuck 3-1 on Wednesday.

DIVISION 4

Pentwater and Muskegon Catholic both defeated their opponents 3-0 in semifinal matchups. They will face off tonight at 7 p.m. for a district title.
