Pirates seeking first West Michigan Conference crown since 1992; Wildcats looking for third straight.

Hart’s girls basketball team is focused on securing the program’s first West Michigan Conference title since 1992.

Montague is looking to keep its league-championship run going.

Both sides have a lot to play for tonight (Feb. 17, 2022) when the Pirates (14-3 overall, 12-0 WMC) and Wildcats (14-3, 10-1) collide in the CatchMark SportsNet Game of the Week. Tip-off should take place sometime around 7:30 p.m., upon the completion of the junior varsity game.

Tonight’s game is a rematch from Jan. 11, when Hart won a nail-biter on its home court against Montague, 37-36.

The Pirates are coming off a 42-39 home loss to Division 3 second-ranked Kent City on Tuesday. That night, the Wildcats cruised past visiting Manistee, 51-29.

Montague has won back-to-back conference championships. Hart finished runner-up in the league each of the last two seasons.
