Hart Competitive Cheer Opens Conference Season With First-Place Finish at Fremont

The Hart varsity competitive cheer team kicked off its conference season in strong fashion Tuesday night, earning first place out of 11 varsity teams at Fremont in the opening conference meet of the year.

Head coach Roberta Cooke said the win was especially meaningful given how tight the league is expected to be this season.

“I am beyond proud of these girls,” Cooke said. “They knew going into this season that it was going to be a tough season as all the teams in the conference are super close in scores after every round. But tonight they pulled it off and they deserved their win.”

Hart now turns quickly to its next two competitions, with a busy stretch ahead. The team is scheduled to compete Friday at Aquinas College, followed by another meet Wednesday at Montague.

With a first-place finish to open conference action, Hart has set an early tone for the season — and Cooke believes her team is ready for the challenge of what’s next.
