Montague favorite son Cody Kater to guest on ‘Power Hour’ Thursday at North Grove

Join us for the live show as two-time state champion QB and ex-Wildcats assistant makes a visit.

The holidays are a great time to reunite with family and friends, especially those you haven’t seen in quite a while.

Cody Kater is coaching in Georgia now, but the former Montague star quarterback, multi-sport athlete and ex-Wildcats assistant is back in town. At 6 p.m. this Thursday at North Grove Brewers in his hometown, Kater will be featured guest on the VanDyk Mortgage Power Hour.

Kater will join co-hosts Jon Russell, Mike Taylor and Scott DeCamp on the live show. You’re invited to come out to North Grove, see Kater and interact with our panelists. Enjoy the food and drink offerings at North Grove as we reminisce with Kater on his Montague days and discuss his first season at Tift County Schools in Georgia.

Kater led Montague to back-to-back state football titles in 2008 and 2009. He served as an assistant football coach for six years at his alma mater, helping the Wildcats win another state championship in 2020. He was Montague’s offensive coordinator for three seasons.

Kater also coached Montague’s girls varsity basketball team for five seasons. He guided the Wildcats to a 17-1 record with a perfect regular season in 2020-21, including a district title and No. 7 ranking in Division 2.

In addition to the live show at North Grove, the Power Hour is streamed on the CatchMark SportsNet YouTube channel. If you can’t make it out to North Grove Thursday, then come back to our website here to get the link for the YouTube feed.
