NORTON SHORES — Paige Anderson was already one of the Muskegon area’s top girls high school golfers, if not the best, prior to Wednesday.
The Reeths-Puffer senior reached a new level with a remarkable round in the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association tournament. Anderson shot a bogey-free, 4-under-par 69 at Oak Ridge Golf Club to establish a career best, earn medalist honors, and power Reeths-Puffer to the GMAA team title.
Reeths-Puffer finished at 353 as a team, three shots ahead of runner-up Whitehall (356). Mona Shores was third (366), while Montague shot a season-best 388 to finish fourth.
Besides Anderson’s fantastic round, Fruitport junior Mylee Mineni recorded a hole-in-one on the 106-yard No. 14. She placed fourth overall with an 87.
