Wrestling’s postseason always has a way of putting communities on their feet—close matches, breakout performances, and athletes earning the chance to compete under the brightest lights Michigan high school wrestling has to offer. This past week and weekend, area programs delivered exactly that at regionals, with championships won, history made, and a strong list of boys and girls wrestlers punching their tickets to the MHSAA state finals at Ford Field.
Team Regionals: Regional Titles and Team State Berths
Whitehall captured a Division 3 Team Regional Championship, defeating:
- Howard City Tri County, 49–27
- The No. 5-ranked team in Division 3 in the finals, 38–30
Whitehall now heads to Team State in Kalamazoo.
Hart continued its dominant run, winning a regional championship for the seventh year in a row.
Fruitport also celebrated a team regional championship, crediting a full-team effort in preparation and two physical dual wins on the way to the title.
Individual Regionals: State Qualifiers Headed to Ford Field
Whitehall Boys Qualify 10
Whitehall turned in a dominant regional performance, sending 10 wrestlers to state, including three regional champions:
- Liam Leeke (157) – 1st
- Cody Manzo (126) – 1st
- Max Krukowski (132) – 1st
Additional qualifiers:
- Robert Belinger (106) – 2nd
- Blake Wallace (113) – 2nd
- Dominic Zygmuntowkski (120) – 3rd
- Tanner Woodworth (175) – 3rd
- Isaac O’Boyle (126) – 4th
- Kolten Weiler (150) – 4th

Fruitport Boys: Regional Champ Leads Four State Qualifiers
Fruitport will send four wrestlers to Ford Field:
- Murphy Lengkeek (132) – 1st
- Zach Aardema (126) – 2nd
- Chase Rosema (215) – 2nd
- Alex Aardema (138) – 4th
Orchard View Sends Three
Orchard View earned three state qualifiers:
- Darius Flowers (165) – 1st
- Xander Randall (165) – 3rd
- Ca’Mari Reese (175) – 3rd
Montague Qualifies Four Across Boys and Girls
Montague celebrated four state qualifiers from weekend regional action:
- Maverick Osbourne (175) – runner-up
- Isaac French (285) – runner-up
- Fletcher Thommen (150) – 3rd
- Zaniya Meza (girls) – 4th
Mona Shores Qualifies Two
Mona Shores will be represented at Ford Field by:
- Anthony Nash
- Davis McFarland
(both top-four regional finishers)
North Muskegon: Tayden Fotis Qualifies; Key Season Conclusions
North Muskegon’s boys regional results included:
- Tayden Fotis – qualified to state
- Brennen Allen – finished one match shy of qualifying, closing a standout career and competing through a torn shoulder labrum
- Gavin Quarry – battled through a tough field
On the girls side at Cadillac, Audra Allen and senior Jaden Reagan wrapped up their seasons. Reagan was recognized for her lasting impact on the program as a trailblazer for the Norse girls team.
Hesperia Sends Four, Including Two Regional Champions
Hesperia produced four Ford Field qualifiers:
- Noah Walker – Regional Champion
- Carter Fuentes – Regional Champion
- Ryan Fuentes – Regional Runner-up
- Aiden Smith – Regional 3rd Place
Holton Adds Four Individual Regional Qualifiers
Holton qualified four wrestlers to state via individual regionals:
- Jackson Domanski (106) – 3rd
- Kole Nichols (113) – 2nd
- Donnie Burkett (165) – 3rd
- Justice Hill (100) – 2nd
