Muskegon-area volleyball teams began state-tournament play Monday with the start of districts.

Action resumes tonight with district semifinal matches. Here are district brackets along with some other info on districts hosted across the area.

Brackets and schedules below come from the Michigan High School Athletic Association website.

DIVISION 1

Grand Haven made quick work of Reeths-Puffer with a 3-0 score in the opening round of district play on Monday. Mona Shores and Muskegon square off in their playoff opener 5 p.m. today. Grand Haven will play Coopersville tonight at 7 p.m.

DIVISION 2

After defeating Boyne City 3-0, Cadillac will face Ludington tonight at 5:30 p.m. in a district semifinal game. Kingsley came out hot and ended the season for Manistee in a clean 3-0 sweep on Monday. Kingsley will take on Kalkaska in a semifinal matchup tonight at 7 p.m.

Fruitport defeated Orchard View 3-0 in the district opener on Monday. Fruitport will take on Oakridge tonight at 5 p.m. Spring Lake displayed some dominance against Montague in their opener and manufactured a 3-0 victory. Spring Lake will take on a talented Whitehall team tonight at 7 p.m.

Newaygo and Sparta will both play their playoff opener tonight at 5 p.m. Grant edged Fremont 3-2 in the district opener and will face off against Howard City Tri County tonight at 7 p.m.

DIVISION 3

Shelby and Hart will go head-to-head in their postseason opener with a rivalry matchup tonight at 5 p.m. Holton defeated Mason County Central 3-0 on Monday and will move on to battle Hesperia tonight at 7 p.m.

Morley Stanwood and White Cloud face off in their district opener tonight at 6 p.m. After defeating Lakeview 3-0 on Monday, Kent City advances to take on Ravenna tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Fennville and North Muskegon match up tonight at 5:30 p.m. in their opening game of the playoffs. Saugatuck defeated Holland Black River 3-0 and will play Western Michigan Christian tonight at 7 p.m.

DIVISION 4

Pentwater defeated Muskegon Heights 3-0 on Tuesday night and will advance to the district finals. Muskegon Catholic Central defeated Fruitport Calvary Christian 3-0 and will take on Pentwater for the title Thursday at 7 p.m.
