The crisp autumn air is settling in, and the smell of freshly cut grass fills the Whitehall High School football field. The Vikings are gearing up for a new season, determined to erase the memories of last year’s challenging campaign and chart a course toward success.

This year, the Vikings’ return with a renewed sense of purpose and a roster brimming with potential. Under the leadership of Coach Tony Sigmon, the team has been working tirelessly during the off-season, refining their skills and building the chemistry needed to compete at a high level.

The Vikings’ face a significant challenge this season, bidding farewell to key contributors like Kyle Stratton, Camar Ready, Trannon Aylor, Darnell Mack, Jamar Hill, and Malcolm Earvin. These departures leave noticeable gaps in their offensive strategy.

Though veterans have departed, the Vikings’ young players are eager to step up. This infusion of new talent could revitalize the offense, leading to surprising breakthroughs. It’s a chance for them to prove their worth and shape the team’s future.

Key Players to Watch:

  • Camden Thompson: The Vikings’ signal-caller possesses a strong arm and a keen understanding of the game. Switching from a WR to a QB can be a big change but with his length and height he should have no problem seeing over the OL.
  • Hunter Osborne: He played some valuable minutes last year and going into this season it will be his time to shine.
  • Brock Morningstar: The heart and soul of the defense, this linebacker is a tackling machine with a nose for the football. He played some valuable minutes for the squad last year and will be looking to make a major impact again this year.

The Vikings’ season opener is set for August 29th against Unity Christian.
