FREMONT 42, MONTAGUE 34: Visiting Fremont jumped out to a 16-6 first-quarter lead and extended it to 29-10 by halftime en route to the WMC Lakes win over Montague.

“I thought we came out with great energy and forced the pace to be fast,” Fremont coach Pete Zerfas said. “Our rotations are getting better each time we play and you can see the team chemistry is building day by day. I just love how hard this group works in practice and games and it is beginning to show positive results.”

Said Montague coach Jess DeBruin: “Free throws, missed layups, and turnovers in the first half got us behind early. But, overall, I am happy with the effort.
