Whitehall track and field athlete wins CatchMark SportsNet Player of Week (May 15-20, 2024)

Ca’Mar Ready reaches new heights in pole vault and also helps Vikings set record in 4×200.

Ca’Mar Ready has been one of the better all-around athletes in the West Michigan Conference during his time as a Whitehall Viking.

The Whitehall track and field athlete was recognized as such in the CatchMark SportsNet WMC Player of the Week fan poll this week.

Ready won the Player of the Week fan poll after a notable performance in the West Michigan All-Star track meet last Wednesday at Reeths-Puffer. He received 1,222 of 1,854 total votes in the poll.

Ravenna softball’s Natalie Rosel was runner-up with 284 votes in the fan poll, which recognized six spring sports athletes from the conference for their performances May 20-25, 2024.

Ready had a big day in the West Michigan All-Star Meet. He established a personal-record height in winning the pole vault event at 14 feet, 3 inches, beating the runner-up by nearly two feet. He also was part of a school-record time in Whitehall’s 4×200-meter relay including Trannon Aylor, Malcolm Earvin, and Kyler Frees which ran 1:29.23 for a runner-up finish.
