Nominees have been selected and the fan poll created for Player of the Week, which is title sponsored by Complete Restoration & Cleaning Services, Inc.

Six spring sports athletes from the conference who stood out in competitions May 20-25, 2024, have been nominated by CatchMark SportsNet. Student-athletes who have already won Player of the Week honors this season are not eligible to be in the fan poll.
Time for you to vote, over and over. The poll can be found at the bottom of this story after brief capsules on the nominees. You may vote once per hour. The poll closes at noon Friday, May 31.

MADDIE CLARK, Oakridge softball
The senior first baseman and cleanup hitter for the Eagles had a day to remember last Wednesday in a nonleague sweep of Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills. Clark finished the day with four home runs to give her 11 on the season. In an 18-3 Game 1 win, Clark went 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs. In a 17-1 Game 2 victory, she finished 2-for-3 with a pair of homers, three RBIs, and three runs scored.
ADDI HOVEY, Hart girls track and field
The Pirates junior continued to shine, even among some of the top track and field athletes in the Greater Muskegon and lakeshore areas. Hovey took first place in three individual events during the West Michigan All-Star Meet last Wednesday at Reeths-Puffer: 12.55 seconds in the 100-meter dash, 25.86 seconds in the 200, and 5-foot-4 in the high jump. She also anchored Hart’s first-place 4×100 relay, which finished with a time of 50.74 seconds.
BOBBY JAZWINSKI, Hart boys track and field
The Pirates freshman more than held his own during the Distance Night Under the Lights Saturday at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids. Jazwinski placed seventh among 141 runners in the 3200-meter run with a personal-record time of 9:23.64. All other finishers in the top 17 of the event are juniors or seniors. In the West Michigan All-Star Meet last Wednesday at Reeths-Puffer, Jazwinski placed third in the 1600 (4:27.05).
EVAN MILLER, Oakridge baseball
The junior catcher and No. 3 hitter in the lineup had a big two-day stretch last week as the Eagles clinched the outright WMC Lakes Division title with a sweep of visiting Montague Tuesday and earned a convincing nonleague win over Muskegon Catholic Central Wednesday. In a 16-1, three-inning win over Montague in Game 1, Miller was 1-for-1 with two walks and a run scored. In a 16-2 Game 2 win vs. Montague, he was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored. In an 11-2 nonleague win over MCC, Miller was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored.
CA’MAR READY, Whitehall boys track and field
The Vikings senior had a big day in the West Michigan All-Star Meet last Wednesday at Reeths-Puffer. Ready established a personal-record height in winning the pole vault event at 14 feet, 3 inches, beating the runner-up by nearly two feet. He also was part of a school-record time in Whitehall’s 4×200-meter relay including Trannon Aylor, Malcolm Earvin, and Kyler Frees which ran 1:29.23 for a runner-up finish.
NATALIE ROSEL, Ravenna softball
The Bulldogs freshman showed off her pitching and hitting prowess in a big week. In a sweep of Division 4 sixth-ranked Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart on Monday, Rosel pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks in a 3-0 Game 2 win. In a sweep of Hart on Wednesday, the lefty spun a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk plus she homered twice in a 13-2 Game 2 win. In a sweep of Division 2 third-ranked Hudsonville Unity Christian Thursday, Rosel tossed a three-hitter and had a two-run single in a 6-0 Game 2 win.
