Mason County Central softball slugger wins CatchMark SportsNet Player of Week (May 13-18, 2024)

Sophomore Aubrey Chye showed some serious extra-base power in doubleheader vs. Whitehall last week.

Growing up on a farm, Aubrey Chye is accustomed to hard work.

The Mason County Central sophomore is seeing her efforts pay off in her softball season.

Chye was voted the CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Player of the Week after producing a monster day during a home doubleheader with Whitehall last week.

Chye won the fan poll with 615 of 1,392 total votes. Whitehall baseball player Kyle Stratton was runner-up with 462 votes in the poll, which recognized six spring sports athletes from the conference for their performances May 13-18, 2024.

Chye had a monster day last Thursday in a pair of West Michigan Conference nondivisional losses to Whitehall. In Game 1, Chye went 3-for-3 with a single, double, and triple, and she also had two stolen bases, two runs scored, and two RBIs. In Game 2, she went 3-for-4 with two triples and an inside-the-park home run. On top of that, Chye scored four runs in the nightcap.
