17 wrestlers from West Michigan Conference finish top 8 for all-state honors

DETROIT – Dozens of wrestlers from the West Michigan Conference competed in the MHSAA individual state finals Friday and Saturday at Ford Field.

Seventeen of them came away with top-eight finishes and all-state honors.

Those honorees are listed below, organized by school:

BOYS

FREMONT

  • Third place: Tee Ward (138), 57-3 record
  • Eighth place: Michael Romero (190), 52-5 record

HESPERIA

  • Third place: Alex Gleason (150), 42-10 record
  • Fifth place: Stephen Priese (106), 45-10 record
  • Fifth place: Blake Sayer (120), 44-9 record
  • Seventh place: Alex Sayer (113), 42-12 record

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL

  • Fourth place: Zane McCabe (126), 52-6 record
  • Eighth place: Hunter Sanford (113), 48-11 record

SHELBY

  • Eighth place: Nick Cano (106), 44-10 record

WHITEHALL

  • First place: Shane Cook (285), 62-0 record
  • Fourth place: Darnell Mack (150), 50-9 record
  • Fourth place: Jackson Cook (215), 48-4 record
  • Eighth place: Ryan Goodrich (165), 41-12 record
  • Eighth place: Wyatt Jenkins (175), 50-9 record

GIRLS
