Izabel Hanson‑Wilbur – Fruitport Volleyball

When the pressure was on, Izabel Hanson-Wilbur delivered. The junior outside hitter led the Fruitport Trojans to a 3-1 district championship win over rival Spring Lake, helping the program capture its third district title in four years. Hanson-Wilbur powered the offense with 15 kills and anchored the defense with a game-high 17 digs, setting the tone on both sides of the net. Her steady play and leadership helped Fruitport overcome injuries and adversity throughout the season.

Beckett Hoppa – North Muskegon

Despite North Muskegon’s 56–28 loss to powerhouse Pewamo-Westphalia in the Division 7 district finals, junior reciever Becket Hoppa once again proved why he’s one of West Michigan’s most electric playmakers. Hoppa was responsible for three of the Norsemen’s four touchdowns, showcasing his versatility and competitiveness against one of the state’s best defenses. Hoppa led North Muskegon’s offense with precision and grit, connecting on key passes and keeping drives alive against constant pressure. His ability to execute in the red zone gave the Norsemen a spark, and his performance helped them post 28 points — the most Pewamo-Westphalia had allowed all season.

Liam Leeke – Whitehall Football

In Whitehall’s 36–20 loss to Saginaw Swan Valley in the Division 5 district final, senior running back Liam Leeke was the clear offensive bright spot for the Vikings. Leeke carried the ball 20 times for 139 yards, averaging just under 7 yards per carry against one of the toughest defenses the Vikings faced all season. From the opening drive, Leeke ran with power and vision, finding daylight even when running lanes were scarce. His ability to pick up consistent yardage kept Whitehall’s offense moving and helped set up both of the team’s touchdowns. Despite the loss, his relentless running embodied the Vikings’ trademark toughness and determination.
