This week’s Player of the Week nominees delivered dominant performances across multiple sports, leading their teams in critical late-season competition. North Muskegon soccer standout Delaney Young erupted offensively with three consecutive hat tricks while helping the state-ranked Norsemen secure a share of the West Michigan Conference title. Mason County Central track star Jackson Poll showcased elite postseason form by winning regional championships in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles to qualify for the state finals in two events. North Muskegon softball ace Braedi Baker was nearly untouchable in the circle, throwing a no-hitter and a one-hitter while surpassing both 200 strikeouts this season and 500 for her varsity career, all while contributing major offensive production at the plate. Together, the trio produced some of the most impressive performances of the spring sports season.

Delaney Young — North Muskegon Soccer

Delaney Young of North Muskegon soccer turned in one of the most explosive offensive stretches of the spring season, recording three consecutive hat tricks while helping lead the No. 6-ranked Norsemen to a share of the West Michigan Conference title. Young scored three goals against Shelby on Senior Night, followed it up with another hat trick in a huge 7-2 conference win over Hart, and continued her scoring surge in North Muskegon’s critical showdown with Ludington. Her relentless attacking pressure and finishing ability powered the Norse through the final week of the regular season and cemented her as one of the area’s most dangerous offensive players entering the postseason.

Jackson Poll — Mason County Central Track

Mason County Central track standout Jackson Poll delivered a dominant performance at the Division 3 regional meet in Manton, capturing regional championships in both the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles while punching two tickets to the state finals. Poll won the 110 hurdles in 14.83 seconds and followed with another first-place finish in the 300 hurdles at 40.90. In one of the toughest Division 3 regionals in the state, Poll also contributed to strong relay performances for the Spartans, helping MCC exceed expectations across multiple events. His versatility, speed, and ability to perform under postseason pressure made him one of the area’s premier track athletes this week.

Braedi Baker — North Muskegon Softball

North Muskegon softball ace Braedi Baker put together a remarkable two-game performance in the circle and at the plate during the Norsemen’s doubleheader sweep of Hesperia. Baker opened the day by throwing a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks in a 20-0 victory, then followed it up by allowing just one hit while striking out eight of the nine outs recorded in a 16-0 win. During the nightcap, Baker surpassed both 200 strikeouts for the season and 500 career strikeouts. She also dominated offensively, blasting two triples, a double, and driving in six runs across the doubleheader. Baker’s combination of overpowering pitching, milestone achievements, and offensive production made her one of the top all-around performers of the week.
