Brodie Fogus’ go-ahead touchdown wins CatchMark Play of the Week (Oct. 25 – Oct. 30)

Whitehall senior standout racks up 293 votes to earn No. 1 spot in the poll

After the poll closed Friday afternoon, voters have determined that Brodie Fogus’ touchdown catch was CatchMark’s Play of the Week. This is Brodie’s first Play of the Week nomination this season. The Whitehall football veteran contributed heavily to the Viking’s share of the West Michigan Conference title.

Fogus fell backward into the endzone to complete a 31-yard touchdown pass from Sophomore quarterback Kyle Stratton, to give Whitehall their first lead of the opening playoff game, 14-7. The Vikings pulled out a 40-20 victory over Sparta and advanced to the district finals tonight against Cadillac.

The senior standout is a two-way starter for a skilled Whitehall group and has been a leader for his fellow teammates throughout the entire season. Fogus has compiled 297 yards on 21 catches with four TDs. Not only has his offensive contribution helped the Vikings, but his defensive skillset as well. As a starting defensive back, he has notched 18 tackles and intercepted three passes.

The timely highlight received 47.7% of the total vote, landing him in the number one spot. Montague’s Tugg Nichols followed with a runner-up finish and 30.6% of the total vote.
