Damari Foster’s scoop and score wins CatchMark Play of the Week (Oct. 4 – Oct. 9)

Foster’s standout play shifts momentum in Muskegon’s 49-28 win over Mona Shores

After the poll closed on Friday afternoon, voters have determined that Damari Foster’s clutch scoop and score was CatchMark’s Play of the Week. The timely highlight received 55% of the total vote, landing him in the number one spot. Jack Houtteman followed with a runner-up finish receiving 40.8%.

In the crosstown rivalry between Muskegon and Mona Shores last week, Foster was able to provide some momentum for his fellow Big Reds just before halftime with the big touchdown return. On a fumbled ball from a Mona Shore receiver, the senior standout returned an 80-yard touchdown to give Muskegon a 27-21 lead heading into the second half.

Mona Shores was unable to regain the lead after the big play and Muskegon took home the 49-28 victory at sailor stadium. Foster had an additional 8-yard TD run that contributed to the Big Red’s 448 total offensive yards on the ground. Muskegon took charge as the front runner in the OK Green conference, posting a 5-0 league record with two games remaining in the season, including one tonight at Reeths-Puffer. Overall, Muskegon advances to 6-1 with their only loss coming in a Week 2 battle against Cass Tech.
