Free audio feed: CatchMark calling Montague vs. NorthPointe in regional baseball at Davenport

Game to begin sometime between 8 and 8:30 at Davenport, where Jon and Cal will still have the call.

Montague’s baseball team earned the right to host an MHSAA Division 3 regional semifinal game Wednesday (June 8) against Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian.

However, Mother Nature had other plans, so today’s game is being moved to the artificial surface of Davenport University. First pitch was set for 7 p.m., but that’s being pushed back to the 8-8:30 p.m. range.

CatchMark will be on hand at Davenport, where we’ll produce a free audio feed of the game on the CatchMark SportsNet YouTube channel. Click on the image at the top of this story or visit the CSN YouTube channel to get the broadcast, as our Jon Russell and Cal VanSingel call the action.

Montague athletic director Jay Mulder said that tickets purchased for the game at Montague will be honored at Davenport.

Montague (22-14) advanced to regional play by winning the district on its home field Saturday, beating Hesperia, 1-0, and North Muskegon, 4-1.

NorthPointe advanced to the regional by winning the district at Central Montcalm, where the Mustangs defeated Kent City, 12-1, and Morley Stanwood, 11-7.

The winner of the Montague-NorthPointe Christian game advances to Saturday’s 10 a.m. regional final at Davenport University against the victor of Wednesday’s Lansing Catholic-Laingsburg matchup.

With steady rain falling most of the day, conditions are not ideal on Montague’s field. Therefore, the game is being moved to Davenport, where the son of Wildcats coach Kevin Buchberger played. Jacob Buchberger was an All-American at Davenport.
