Grant Becklin, Kyle Beebe power Ravenna past Montague in Game of the Week OT thriller

Together, the senior standouts powered Ravenna to a 52-48 victory over visiting Montague in the CatchMark SportsNet Game of the Week Tuesday night.

Becklin totaled a game-high 21 points to go with nine rebounds and three assists. Beebe scored all seven of the Bulldogs’ points in overtime to finish with 16, plus he notched four rebounds and four assists as the ‘Dogs completed the season sweep of the Wildcats.

Ravenna (12-6 overall) finished second in the West Michigan Conference at 10-4, one game behind league champion Whitehall. Montague (13-6) tied for third in the conference with Oakridge and North Muskegon at 8-6.

Clay Schullo added eight points for Ravenna, while Travis May had seven points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Tate Stine led Montague with 15 points and five assists. His bucket late in regulation sent the game to overtime.

Colton Blankstrom made four 3-pointers en route to 12 points for the Wildcats. Isaiah Atchison had six points, seven rebounds and four blocks, while Tugg Nichols added five points, four rebounds and two assists.

Ravenna wraps up the regular season with a home game Thursday against Remus Chippewa Hills. Next week, the Bulldogs will compete in the Division 3 district at White Cloud as the No. 2 seed. They’ll play Wednesday against the winner of Monday’s Kent City-Lakeview game.

Montague closes the regular season Thursday at Fruitport, then the Wildcats turn around and play the Trojans again in a Division 2 district opener at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Spring Lake.
