Montague earns boys basketball win vs. Fremont in WMC Game of the Week

MONTAGUE – Montague’s boys basketball team used offensive balance and defense to earn a 57-49 home victory over Fremont Friday night in the CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Game of the Week.

The win improved Montague to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the WMC Lakes Division. Fremont is now 3-3 and 1-2, respectively.

Here are some highlights from the game:

  • Montague senior Braeden Johnston led the Wildcats in scoring with 15 points. Johnston had a total of seven rebounds.
  • Montague junior Owen Raeth followed with a total of 14 points.
  • Junior Isaiah Atchison also had a total seven rebounds and six points.
  • The Wildcats scored 12 points in the first quarter, 13 points in the second quarter, 12 points in the third quarter and 20 points in the fourth quarter.
  • Fremont’s Jordon McDonald led the Packers in scoring with 18 points. Chaz Miller followed with a total of 10 points.
