Montague and Hart have been head and shoulders above the rest in the West Michigan Conference in girls basketball the last couple seasons.
The Wildcats and Pirates, both off to 4-0 starts in league play, are setting the pace so far this season, too.
Tuesday night, a little separation will be created between the teams. Both 5-1 overall, Montague and Hart square off in the first of two pivotal matchups. It’s the easy pick for CatchMark SportsNet Game of the Week, tipping off at approximately 7 p.m. at Hart.
Montague has captured back-to-back conference titles, as Hart has finished runner-up each season. The Wildcats won both matchups last season, 44-37 and 42-25. The year before, Hart won the first game against Montague, 39-31, before the Wildcats pulled out a 49-46 triple-overtime thriller over the Pirates to win the outright league title in dramatic fashion.
