Oakridge avenges 2021 loss to Montague with dominant Game of the Week performance

Eagles rolling into playoffs, while Wildcats looking to regroup entering postseason.

MONTAGUE — Oakridge’s football team made it very clear from the start that there would be no repeat from 2021 at Montague.

The Eagles capitalized on turnovers and exerted their will throughout the contest in a 45-7 victory over the host Wildcats on their senior night in the North Grove Brewers West Michigan Conference Game of the Week Friday at Townsend Athletic Complex.

Oakridge avenged last year’s 33-7 defeat to Montague on the same field and now the Eagles (8-1, 5-1 WMC Lakes Division) carry momentum into the playoffs that kick off next week.

Montague (3-6, 2-4) looks to be a safe bet to make the playoffs, but the Wildcats will have to regroup after suffering their fifth loss in six games.
