Oakridge softball player wins CatchMark SportsNet Player of Week (June 3-8, 2024)

Kelcey Osborne capped a fantastic freshman season by collecting this honor.

Kelcey Osborne assembled a fantastic freshman season for Oakridge’s softball team as a hitter and pitcher.

She put a fine cap on that season, too, by winning the CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Player of the Week fan poll.

Osborne finished atop the Player of the Week fan poll by receiving 11,831 of the 22,148 total votes. Hart softball player Gabby Quijas was a close second with 10,092 votes in the poll, which recognied four spring sports athletes from the conference for their performances June 3-8, 2024.

This was the final CatchMark SportsNet WMC Player of the Week for the 2024 spring season and 2023-24 school year. Player of the Week was title-sponsored by Complete Restoration & Cleaning Services, Inc.

Osborne did the job in the pitcher’s circle and at the plate in Oakridge’s 13-4 victory over Grand Rapids Catholic Central in a Division 2 regional semifinal last Saturday at Fremont. The right-hander allowed three earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and two walks in seven innings of work. At the plate, Osborne went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
