Ravenna captures third district wrestling title in six seasons

RAVENNA — For the third time in six seasons, Ravenna’s wrestling program has captured a district championship.

The Bulldogs pulled it off Wednesday in their own gym, where they edged West Michigan Conference rival North Muskegon in the Division 4 district semifinals (39-37) before they took down Muskegon Catholic Central in the finals (48-36).

In the other semifinal, Muskegon Catholic Central defeated Holton (54-24).

Ravenna (5-17) advances to next Wednesday’s regional at a site yet to be determined. The Bulldogs will face Ithaca.
