Results from the GMAA girls bowling tournament: Ravenna top dogs on the girls side

The Rockets and Cardinals round out the top three.

Ravenna – First Place (1887 Points)

Ravenna finished with the highest total, 1887 points, and went on to win the championship match. Taylor Nutt led the team with 375 (227, 148), while Emma Herremans followed with 346 (186, 160). Gabby Nutt also had a great showing with 332 (129, 203). Their strong individual performances helped them claim the title.

Reeths-Puffer – Second Place (1777 Points)

Reeths-Puffer totaled 1777 points in the tournament. Ella Mattson had one of the team’s best scores with 330 (158, 172), while Brook Buchan added 327 (180, 147). Destani Villalpando also contributed with 310 (180, 130). The Rockets put together a consistent performance but fell short of the championship win.

Orchard View – Third Place (1689 Points)

Orchard View finished with 1689 points. Eliana Jennings led the team with 331 (162, 169), and Zariah Burt followed with 297 (128, 169). Natalia Mendiola and Morgan Nelson also had solid scores to keep the Cardinals in the top three.

Holton – (1655 Points)

Holton ended the event with 1655 points. EmmaLee Fox was the standout performer, scoring 325 (137, 188). Karley Plekes added 318 (177, 141), while Emma Edwards chipped in 290 (154, 136). The Red Devils had good individual scores but couldn’t break into the top three.

Oakridge – (1592 Points)

Oakridge put up 1592 points, led by Bella Bowen with 321 (180, 141). Breanna Twining contributed 305 (160, 145), and Marisa Knoblock added 274 (146, 128). They had solid performances up and down the lineup but fell short of making it to the semifinals.

Whitehall – (1548 Points)

Whitehall totaled 1548 points. Delaney Kramer led the way with 287 (133, 154), while Felicity Dingman and Adalyn Britton both posted 258. Averie Bentz also contributed 234. The Vikings finished middle of the pack and had an opportunity to reach the top four.

Mona Shores – (1480 Points)

Mona Shores finished with 1480 points. Sophia Sowa had the team’s top score with 329 (154, 175), while Briar Graham added 327 (177, 150). Oliviah Greene and Niall Schnebelt also had solid performances. Despite strong individual efforts, the Sailors didn’t reach the championship match.

Montague – (1417 Points)

Montague put together 1417 points. Alanna Hysell had one of the best team scores with 264 (128, 136), followed by Jordyn Tolan with 258 (128, 130). Kaelyn Ross also contributed 233 (99, 134). The Wildcats lacked depth towards the bottom of their lineup which caused them to fall out of the top five.

Fruitport – (1249 Points)

Fruitport ended with 1249 points. Mya Herrysgers led the team with 240 (132, 108), while Kyleigh O’Connell scored 218 (126, 92). Harper Simila and Joe Pider also contributed to the total. The Trojans ultimately faced difficulties keeping up with the higher-scoring squads.

Championship Match – Ravenna Takes the Title

The final match was between Ravenna and Reeths-Puffer. Ravenna had strong scores across the board, which helped them secure the 2025 GMAA City Championship.

  1. Taylor Nutt (Ravenna) – 375 (227, 148)
  2. Emma Herremans (Ravenna) – 346 (186, 160)
  3. Gabby Nutt (Ravenna) – 332 (129, 203)
  4. Eliana Jennings (Orchard View) – 331 (162, 169)
  5. Ella Mattson (Reeths-Puffer) – 330 (158, 172)

Ravenna had the best overall team performance and took home the title. The tournament featured several strong individual showings, and teams will be looking forward to next year’s competition.
