The West Michigan Conference boys basketball title chase is just getting started and Ravenna is doing what it can to stay near the top of the standings.
On Friday, host Ravenna defeated neighboring rival Oakridge, 58-50, to snap a two-game skid and improve to 3-1 in the league (4-2 overall).
That leaves the Bulldogs in a second-place tie with Whitehall (4-3, 3-1) in the WMC standings. Shelby sits alone atop the conference standings in the early going with a 2-0 record (3-1 overall).
Oakridge is now 1-3 in the league (4-4 overall).
