Ludington’s victory over Fremont shakes up the WMC race a bit.
The race is on for the 2024 West Michigan Conference girls soccer championship.
Division 4 top-ranked North Muskegon is enjoying its perch in the No. 1 spot in the standings, but Ludington served notice that it’s a factor again in the chase with a 3-1 victory over previously unbeaten Fremont on Monday.
In other action Monday night, Montague edged arch-rival Whitehall, 5-4, in a highly emotional contest.
