Shelby’s Bishop Lee earns CatchMark Player of the Week accolade (Feb. 7-12)

Tigers junior had two strong games last week.

Bishop Lee is a rugged player for Shelby’s boys basketball team, known for sacrificing his body and doing all the dirty work.

His efforts definitely have been noticed in voters’ eyes. Lee is the winner of the CatchMark Player of the Week fan poll for Feb. 7-12, 2022.

The Tigers’ junior forward totaled 305 of 581 total votes in the poll, enough to top Oakridge basketball players Garrett Wever and Jasmine Pastor.

Last week, Lee continued to pull down rebounds and create opportunities for his teammates with his hustle, but he also showed he can put up some points, too.

Lee scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds in a win over rival Hart, then he nearly repeated the feat with 17 points and nine boards in a victory over Holton.

Shelby (10-5 overall, 7-4 West Michigan Conference) hosts Montague (10-5, 6-5) tonight in a league contest. The Tigers hit the road twice next week for games at Orchard View and Ravenna.
