HART — Senior Joseph Hayes powered Shelby to a 63-55 boys basketball victory over Hart Thursday night in the CatchMark SportsNet Game of the Week.

Hayes finished with a game- and career-high 40 points to carry the Tigers (7-3 overall, 5-2 West Michigan Conference), who have pulled within one game of first-place Ravenna in the West Michigan Conference title race.

Parker Hovey led Hart (4-5, 2-5) with 23 points.
