Watch the video above to see the Play of the Week nominations. Cast your vote in the poll at the bottom of this story. The poll will close Friday, Nov. 19, at noon.

Here are descriptions of the three nominated plays to offer context:

Play 1: Senior, Tugg Nichols of Montague upended Lansing Catholic running back Brandon Lewis on a great defensive play in the Division 6 regional final game last Saturday where the Wildcats fell 31-13 to the Cougars. Nichols has been the emotional leader for Montague and an asset on both sides of the ball. The senior receiver and defensive back finished the game with six total tackles including one for loss and an interception.

Play 2: In the season ending regional final loss for Montague, there were still several glimpses of greatness. Colton Blankstrom, a standout senior tight end and linebacker for the Wildcats intercepts a rifled pass leading his team to their first score of the game. Colton had a team high nine tackles on the day, including one for loss. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound powerhouse has been an essential component for Montague’s defense this season.

Play 3: In the final game of the season for Muskegon Catholic Central, senior Dane Rutz caught a 19-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Elliot Riegler in the first quarter. Rutz, who was hurt for most of the season, made his comeback debut against Oakridge in week 9 and contributed the Crusaders success down the stretch. Rutz scored two TDs in Muskegon Catholic’s 41-22 regional final loss to Lawton in the Division 7 regional final at historical Hackley field last Friday.

Play of the Week will be adapted to Player of the Week for the Winter Sports season. This series will kick off in the first week of December, when the winter sports season begins.
