Shelby senior Kendall Zoulek solidified herself as one of the league’s most consistent scorers. Against Fremont, Zoulek posted a double double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Later in the week against Oakridge, she notched 19 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Parker Hovey, Hart

As an offensive leader for Hart last season, Parker Hovey was expected to be a scoring threat again for the Pirates. In Hart’s first week back, Hovey put up 38 points and grabbed 21 rebounds across two games. The Junior spent the offseason improving his fundamentals and optimizing his physical athleticism. It has definitely shown through week 1. The Pirates are 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the West Michigan Conference.

Ira Jenkins, Whitehall

The University of Michigan commit made his senior season debut on the Whitehall wrestling team this past week. To no surprise, he makes his debut on the CatchMark Player of the Week series as well. The masterful heavy weight Viking opened his season on Wednesday, where he knocked off Kent City as well as the seventh ranked wrestler in the state within the first 30 seconds of the first round. On Saturday, the senior was a Southwest Classic tournament champion posting a 5-0 record on the day with three first period pins. Jenkins was named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler.
