EAST LANSING — Montague’s girls golf team captured a second-straight Division 4 state championship, securing the “Mitten” in a very close battle with Lansing Catholic that wrapped up Saturday at Michigan State University’s Forest Akers East.

The Wildcats and Cougars both shot 675 in the two-day event, but the fifth-score tie-breaker pushed Montague over the top.

Seniors Orianna Bylsma and Gabby Moreau both finished in the top 10 individually to pace the Wildcats.

Watch highlights and reaction from Saturday’s achievement. Hear from coach Phil Kerr, as well as Bylsma and Moreau, and see the team escorted back into town Saturday night.
