Ludington slides past Spring Lake while Holton drops two games in tough matchups.

Two West Michigan Conference boys basketball teams played their final games of 2022 in the last two days of December to bring the season into the new year.

Here is a brief roundup from those two nights:  

FRIDAY, DEC. 30

LUDINGTON 64, SPRING LAKE 61: The Orioles squeaked past the Lakers in a close contest that may have been decided by Ludington’s late game defense.

Ludington leaders: 

Gage Jones 15 points

Spencer Holmes 12 points

David Shillinger 9 points

Spring Lake leaders:

Zane Stahl 16 points

Zach Schlepp 13 points

REED CITY 56, HOLTON 23: A strong first half from the Coyotes allowed Reed City to push away from the Red Devils and never look back.
