NONLEAGUE

HART 69, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 40: Host Hart raced to a 19-5 first-quarter lead and outscored MCC 34-17 in the second half en route to the runaway nonleague victory.

“In a makeup game between non conference opponents Muskegon Catholic Central and Hart, it was the home Pirates who were able to protect their ship,” Hart coach Nick Bronsema said.

“Hart got off to a 19-3 start led by an aggressive full court press predicated on all five guys working together to do their job. However, once the Crusaders settled in, they were able to cut into the lead … . Credit to MCC for their resilience. In the end, there was too much Blake Weirich.”

Hart leaders:

Blake Weirich 25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists

Brendan Hiddema 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals

Jesse Jacobs 8 points, 6 rebounds

Caleb Ackley 12 rebounds
