Seven weeks of the 2023 high school football season are in the books for West Michigan Conference teams.

Here is a roundup of Week 7 games that took place Friday, Oct. 6.

WMC LAKES

WHITEHALL 48, LUDINGTON 0: Visiting Whitehall showed offensive balance, dominant defense, and dangerous special teams in posting another WMC Lakes shutout.

OAKRIDGE 50, ORCHARD VIEW 18: Host Oakridge broke open a close game with a big second half en route to a runaway victory as the neighboring rivals renewed their series.

MONTAGUE 28, FREMONT 7: Visiting Montague leaned on its running game and snapped a three-game losing skid with a victory over Fremont.

WMC RIVERS

NORTH MUSKEGON 18, RAVENNA 7: Visiting North Muskegon banked on its defense in a rainy game against rival Ravenna.

HART 72, HOLTON 12: Visiting Hart continued its winning ways with a runaway victory over Holton in WMC Rivers action.

The Pirates (6-1, 3-1 WMC Rivers) piled up 481 rushing yards on 34 carries, using a balanced attack in the process. Sophomore Kyle Greiner led Hart with 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Ty Thomas also scored two rushing TDs for Hart, plus he led his team with 13 tackles.

For Holton (0-7, 0-4), Riley Pierce had 48 yards passing and 42 rushing. Anthony Boone rushed for 56 yards, while David Addison ran for 44. Hunter Zang totaled 28 receiving yards.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 47, HESPERIA 0: Visiting Mason County Central jumped out to a 26-0 first-quarter lead and ran away from Hesperia.

MCC (4-3, 3-2 WMC Rivers) outgained Hesperia in total offense, 349-79. Tyler Norton rushed 16 times for 105 yards and a TD for the Spartans, while Quentin ran four times for 79 yards and two TDs. Pierce Bladzik was 6-of-11 passing for 99 yards and two TDs. Ethan Domin paced MCC defensively with eight solo tackles and one assist, while Gus McLouth had six solo tackles, including five tackles for loss.

No stats or details were submitted for Hesperia (1-6, 0-4).

WMC NONDIVISIONAL

MANISTEE 52, SHELBY 14: Visiting Manistee improved to 6-1 overall with a WMC nondivisional victory over Shelby.

Nick Hornkohl led the Mariners offensively with 139 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. Ean Guenthardt paced Manistee’s defense with nine tackles.

No stats or details were submitted for Shelby (2-5).
